Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park – Aliso Viejo

This park has multiple access points and a range of backdrops, from beautiful, mature trees to rustic feeling trails and wide open meadows. It feels like a little slice of countryside tucked right into the suburbs. Perfect if you want an earthy, natural feel with almost complete privacy at some locations. My personal favorite part is the mountain backdrops!

Niguel Botanical Preserve – Laguna Niguel

Best for: Nature vibes, garden settings, trails

This hidden gem behind the YMCA in Laguna Niguel is full of winding paths, native plants, and scenic overlooks. It feels tucked away and peaceful, and the lush greenery changes with the seasons—so every visit looks a little different. It’s a great option if you want nature without the sand.

Note: There’s some uphill walking, so you’ll want to bring comfy shoes (you can change into your photoshoot shoes once we’re in place).

Badlands Park - Laguna Niguel

Best for: Epic views, sunset silhouettes, adventurous families

If you're up for a short walk, this spot delivers panoramic views of the ocean from a cliffside. The sunsets here are truly breathtaking, and the surrounding trails offer beautiful earthy tones and texture to your images.

Salt Creek Beach – Dana Point

Best for: Beachy sunsets, open skies, playful family moments

Salt Creek Beach offers everything you want in a classic Southern California photoshoot—dramatic cliffs, soft sand, and golden light. The wide beach and gentle surf make it ideal for little ones to explore while still getting stunning portraits. There’s a little bit of everything here: grassy bluffs, crashing waves, and ocean views.

Pro Tip: Aim for golden hour (about an hour before sunset) for the most flattering light.
